Regional Lead – Planning and Environmental Strategy

Role OverviewWe're seeking an experienced Associate Technical Director or above to lead our Environmental Planning team in the South West and Wales. You'll be responsible for providing strategic oversight and coordination of your region, working closely with other Regional Leads across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the team in the South West and Wales, responsible for recruitment, growth, and project delivery.
- Coordinate and deliver planning and environmental work, influencing project development and delivering optimal outcomes.
- Support business development activities, participating in external market profile raising and client engagement.
- Raise awareness of our services in the region, winning new opportunities and building new contacts.
- Actively engage with key clients, creating cross-selling opportunities for the wider business.
- Obtain regular feedback from clients on our performance and look to cross-sell the wider business.
- Work in partnership with other members of the Environmental Planning team, providing planning and environmental advice and support to clients and colleagues.
- Engage with consultees and stakeholders, managing projects and overseeing performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety.
- Excellent working knowledge of the UK Planning system and consenting process, including EIA practices and procedures.
- Experience across a range of project types, including large-scale energy and infrastructure, rail, highways, water, and defence projects.
- Strong report writing, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience in reviewing the work of others to ensure quality.
- Experience in multi-disciplinary coordination and leadership of projects, with good project management and technical skills.
- Commercial expertise, including forecasting, project management, and quality assurance.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification, preferably with chartered status or working towards.
- A flexible, pragmatic, and collaborative approach to work.
