The role of Highway Consents Manager will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of the HS2 project. As a key member of the Traffic and Highways team within the contract-wide Consents & Engagement function, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing Highways Consents in accordance with the Route-wide Traffic Management Plan.

Liaising between the project, HS2 Ltd and relevant stakeholders, you will develop productive relationships that benefit all parties. Your expertise in Highways Consents and Traffic Management will be essential in ensuring the needs of both the integrated project delivery team and the client are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in accordance with the HS2 Route-wide Traffic Management Plan.
  • Advise the project delivery team on Highway Consenting matters.
  • Collaborate with the Area Traffic Management Manager to ensure timely consent of delivery teams' requirements.
  • Coordinate, prepare and submit highways consents and other highway-related applications.
  • Lead and host (if required) Local Traffic Liaison Group meetings and present current and future planned works.
  • Maintain and update highways reports within the delivery area in accordance with the HS2 Route-wide Traffic Management Plan.
  • Understand and implement Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the New Roads and Street Works and Traffic Management Acts.
  • Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Traffic Signs Manual, Traffic Signs Regulation and General Directions (TSRGD).
  • Understanding of the High Speed 2 London to West Midlands Act and associated Highways consenting regime.
