Job Title: Educational Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide 1:1 support for pupils with special educational needs in a mixed Reception and Year 1 class. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children that have special educational needs and be able to establish and maintain consistent routines to support pupil engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with a variety of SEN needs, including autism, within the classroom.
  • Help establish and maintain consistent routines to support pupil engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff to ensure seamless support for the child's needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive relationship with the pupils to encourage their progress and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children that have special educational needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils with autism and other SEN needs in an educational setting.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and respond to the needs of the pupils.
  • Must be able to understand and follow the school's safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies.
