This role requires employees to complete online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Electrical Workshop Manager to prioritize tasks assigned to the workshop, highlighting issues where targets cannot be met.
  • Working on RACE projects involving research and development of new equipment and tasks, recognizing potential build and operations issues.
  • Assisting the RACE Remote Handling Electrical Plant Manager in supporting remote handling equipment in operations.
  • Acting as the Responsible Officer for RACE equipment or systems, ensuring maintenance is carried out as specified.

Requirements:

  • A relevant engineering degree/HND or HNC/apprenticeship or equivalent with significant industrial experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of crimping and soldering techniques.
  • Experienced in fault-finding techniques in electrical systems and devices.
  • Experienced in supervising a workshop and managing technicians.
