Job Summary

Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you will lead and inspire a team across all aspects of marine projects, including setup, growth, and close-out. Working closely with key stakeholders such as clients, authorities, health and safety, directors, internal and external design, you will ensure project delivery is compliant and on time, without compromising on standards and ensuring regular communications to the Directorate aligned with corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of the project, demonstrating a thorough understanding of associated processes, compliance, and technology.
  • Demonstrate clear and visible leadership, with capacity to absorb responsibility and accountability while providing sensitive direction to others.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure their way of working enriches the company's sustainability, social value, and compliance expectations.
  • Ensure all safety, health, environment, and quality matters, including driving excellence and championing continuous improvement.
  • Provide direction, motivation, and leadership to internal staff and external consultants or supply chain partners engaged in providing support activities to the project.
  • Actively seek out, drive, and promote service excellence, best practice, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review and approve project management plans, health and safety plans, environmental work package plans.
  • Provide direction, motivation, and leadership, promoting a collaborative environment with everyone involved.
  • Promote the identity and image of the company at all times.
  • Manage the project and team to implement effective planning, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Remain effective when the situation is unclear, complicated, or pressurized.
  • Ensure that project imperatives and stakeholder interfaces are clearly communicated and understood throughout the project and to others, as appropriate.
  • Lead, review, and challenge project budgets and forecasts to ensure a consistent, challenging but deliverable approach is adopted.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering.
  • Sound knowledge of Marine Engineering and the challenges associated.
  • 5 years Project Management experience, working on marine or water engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in IT, including MS Office, AutoCAD, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • A Full Valid Driving License that permits driving in the UK and Ireland.
