Job Title: Clinical Director for Adult Eating Disorders

Join Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust as a Clinical Director for Adult Eating Disorders, where you will lead a team of clinical professionals in providing high-quality care to individuals with eating disorders.

About the Role:

This is a clinically focussed post with emphasis on ensuring high quality clinical care provision and outcomes. The successful applicant will be expected to:

  1. Provide clinical leadership within the Adult Eating Disorders Team, maintaining the integrity of these teams in line with the Trust's organisational structure.
  2. Work in partnership with clinicians, People Participation Leads and other stakeholders to support clinical engagement and leadership of quality, safety, performance and service development.
  3. Professional networking locally and nationally and disseminate/share information with other colleagues.
  4. Take the management/clinical lead role in partnership with the clinical/multi-disciplinary team in managing complex cases.
  5. Contribute to identifying/reviewing/re-designing services in response to user need, ensuring a safe, high-quality level of service is maintained.
Key Responsibilities:

As a Clinical Director for Adult Eating Disorders, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining evidence-based, strategic plans for Adult Eating Disorders services according to NICE guidelines.
  • Delivering the vision and strategy in alignment with the Trust's business plan, local commissioning intentions, local healthcare alliances, and national policy drivers.
  • Contributing to annual objectives for Adult Eating Disorders services, with a clear action plan, milestones, and monitoring process, aligned to the Trust's annual objectives, CQC standards, and QED accreditation.
  • Helping develop services and leading clinical change within Adult Eating Disorders services, implementing and evaluating agreed strategic plans.
Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Masters level qualification in a clinical, management, or leadership field, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Professional registration for nursing or other relevant clinical field.

Desirable qualifications include a management diploma/degree in management/leadership or equivalent vocational training, or a willingness to undertake training from the first year of holding this post.

The successful candidate will have experience of leading health or social care services, leading service improvement, and managing health and social care integrated services.

Essential skills include the ability to help develop a culture that improves quality and safety in service areas, communicate with people about difficult matters/difficult situations across a diverse range of scenarios/situations, and develop oneself and others in the area of leadership and service management.

Knowledge of the wider health and social care system and structures, policies, procedures, and legislation relevant to Adult Eating Disorders services, management tools, organisational systems, and processes relevant to managing in an NHS organisation, and the philosophy, principles, and national drivers underpinning services for people with mental health problems, are also essential.
