Salary: M1 to UPS3 + TLR

Hours: Full-time, Standard Teaching Hours with Full Teaching Responsibilities

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Chemistry teacher to lead our Chemistry department. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the Chemistry curriculum and inspiring both students and staff to achieve excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Chemistry department, driving high standards in teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons to students across a range of abilities.
  • Develop and implement an innovative Chemistry curriculum, ensuring alignment with school goals and national requirements.
  • Track and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Chemistry teaching team, supporting their professional development.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that fosters curiosity and a love for science.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other department heads to contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching Chemistry at the secondary level.
  • Proven leadership experience or a strong desire to take on a leadership role within the department.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Chemistry education.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining high academic standards and supporting student success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
