We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead our team in the Warwickshire region.

This is a permanent role, available from November 2024 or shortly thereafter. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to start in Q4 2024 or Q1 2025.

The ideal candidate will be managing designed and built projects up to £10M (M&E value) across various sectors, including Commercial, Residential, Health, Education, and Leisure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiarise with project details, drawings, and specifications to ensure a thorough understanding.
  • Attend Pre-start meetings with Main Contractors.
  • Develop programmes with key dates and issue technical submittals for approval.
  • Procure labour and subcontractor packages, materials, and services while ensuring cost savings and programme delivery.
  • Maintain commercial responsibility, working alongside QS on variations, and ensure profitable returns.
  • Project planning and progress management with Site Managers, ensuring compliance with Contract drawings and high standards.
  • Labour and material management, working closely with Electrical counterparts.
  • Promote Quality reports and documentation required by Main Contractors.
  • Progress meetings with Clients and Subcontractors to monitor performance and quality.
  • Commissioning stages planning and monitoring with Site Managers and Subcontractors.
  • Defect minimisation and formulation of O&M Manual information.
  • Deliver whole projects to handover and final account stages.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrable record of managing multi-million-pound D&B projects as mechanical number one.
  • Good all-round mechanical knowledge with relevant qualifications.
  • Effective planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritise workloads.
  • Commercial awareness, taking full responsibility for financial performance of all mechanical elements.
  • Client-focused and professional.
  • Good people management, motivation, leadership, and relationship maintenance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of business systems such as 4Projects, Fieldview, and Business Collaborator (training available).

Package Details:

The annual salary for this role is negotiable, circa £65,000, depending on previous experience. Additional benefits include a discretionary company bonus scheme, company vehicle, mobile phone, laptop, PPE, and company clothing.

Furthermore, 25 days' holiday plus stats, private healthcare, and a competitive pension plan are provided.

This role can be based on-site, generally across the Midlands, or in the office, with some provision for remote working from home when suitable.
