Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Class 1 Lead Driver Operative to join our team at Vp plc. As a key member of our Portable Roadway team, you will be responsible for delivering, installing, and recovering our hire equipment from customer sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute your workload to meet customer or company deadlines, ensuring compliance with drivers' hours and working time regulations.
  • Ensure all transport-related transactions are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with our Portable Roadway Operatives to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Operate a lorry loader crane, chain, or grab, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence with category C+E entitlement.
  • Current digital tachograph driver card and driver CPC card.
  • Suitably proficient in maths and written and spoken English to undertake the duties required by the role.
  • Good level of physical fitness due to the onsite work required.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and some weekend work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience operating a lorry loader crane, chain, or grab, with ALLMI or CPCS certification preferred.
  • Experienced working within the Portable Roadway industry.
