About the Role:

The Behavioural Support Officer will provide critical support to students facing behavioural, attendance, and social challenges in an educational setting. Key responsibilities include working closely with students, developing strategies to address behavioural issues, and maintaining accurate records of incidents and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with students, teachers, and support staff to develop and implement strategies for addressing behavioural challenges
  • Provide objective and accurate feedback to educators regarding student conduct
  • Assist students in moving between lessons and provide support during transitions
  • Maintain accurate records of student incidents and interventions, updating relevant staff members
  • Utilize data to identify potential issues and share with appropriate agencies
  • Work with the intervention/support teams to proactively address behavioural concerns
  • Ensure the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and young people, following the Academy's policies and the staff code of conduct

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess strong English language and communication skills, relevant training in Behaviour Management and Conflict Resolution, and experience working with teenagers in an educational setting. The ability to calmly address emotional situations, maintain assertiveness, and consistency in approach is crucial.
