Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Scientist to join our team at the University of Oxford, specifically in the Douglas group at the Jenner Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine.

This role will provide an opportunity to pursue an agreed research strategy within the broad field of improving adenoviral vectors for gene transfer, particularly for vaccination.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own academic research and administrative activities related to adenovirus vector research, including small-scale project management, coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement research ideas to generate income and contribute to new research projects
  • Assist in preparing scientific reports and journal articles, including taking leadership in specialized publications
  • Present papers and posters at meetings and conferences
  • Represent the group through liaison with funders, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders

Requirements:

  • PhD/DPhil in biology or medical science, or close to completion
  • Experience in molecular biology, particularly in the engineering of viral genomes, comparable to adenoviruses
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing for publication, preparing protocols, and presenting research proposals and results

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team and contribute to the development of adenovirus vectors for gene transfer.
