About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities Engineer to join our team at Kepak Group. As a Utilities Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and mains water network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the WWTP, monitoring all stages of the process and making adjustments as necessary to ensure compliance with discharge limits.
  • Provide first-line engineering support to the WWTP Operative, assisting with day-to-day operational activities and troubleshooting issues.
  • Conduct sample testing, monitoring, and recording of key levels such as COD, Iron, and Suspended Solids to ensure compliance with set limits and trend data for analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records using site systems, CMMS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Perform routine planned maintenance of the WWTP and mains water network as outlined in the CMMS.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical works associated with the role, including design, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical knowledge to support asset reliability, performance, and improvements.
  • Liaise with external bodies, including utility providers, governing bodies, and contractors, as required.
  • Support the Sustainability Manager during reactive engineering activities concerning water and wastewater.
  • Lead planned and sanctioned engineering/sustainability initiatives as directed.
Requirements

  • Time served apprenticeship, NVQ 3 or HNC in mechatronics/electrotechnical.
  • 2+ years of previous experience in wastewater treatment.
  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering.
  • Computer literacy and experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Desirable qualifications include BS7671 18th Edition, relevant training in wastewater treatment/processing/chemical engineering, and Forklift Truck (counterbalance) certification.
