Plymouth, Plymouth, United Kingdom Mace Full time
Unlock Your Potential in a Dynamic Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sustainability Director to join our team in the Defence and National Security sector. This exciting opportunity will see you lead Mace's defence team on a major infrastructure project at Devonport Dockyard.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that offers hybrid working arrangements. As a Senior Sustainability Director, you will be responsible for delivering client-facing consultancy services, including the advisory, management, and coordination of climate change, sustainability, and social value related activities on projects and programs.

  • Develop client climate change, sustainability, and social value strategies on individual projects, ensuring their successful delivery by the project team.
  • Manage a team of sustainability managers and/or assistant sustainability managers.
  • Promote innovation in specific areas of sustainability, such as waste, energy/carbon, water, responsible sourcing of materials, sustainable buildings, etc.
  • Act as a technical expert, covering all key issues of sustainability with relevant stakeholders.

In this role, you will support Mace's drive to become a leader in climate change and sustainability. You will be able to articulate the value of sustainability to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to the development of client climate change, sustainability, and social value strategies.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and energy reduction in new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience in one or more sustainability topics (waste, water, energy, carbon, responsible sourcing, building design, biodiversity, etc).
  • A relevant environmental or sustainability degree and qualifications, desirable but not essential.

We also welcome applications from individuals who can discuss part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options suitable within the role.

Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
