Child Licensing Officer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Child Licensing Officer to join our team at Adecco. As a key member of our Private Hire Vehicle Licensing Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of Licensing Services.
Job Purpose:Under the general direction of the Section Leader, you will assist in the processing of applications for licences, permits, registration, and other related tasks. Your primary responsibility will be to provide an efficient and responsive customer service, offering advice and information to the public, local businesses, and other council officers on licence activities carried out by Licensing Services.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Licensing Services.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of applications and transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to queries and requests via phone and in-person.
- Process and issue applications for licences and registrations.
- Operate and maintain accurate records, registers, and statistics.
- Answer phone calls and respond to personal enquiries.
- Prepare and provide standard letters and memoranda as required.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as necessary.
- Prepare and present reports to relevant officers and Members.
- Perform duties outside normal office hours as required.
- Act in accordance with the Council's Constitution and other Codes of Conduct.
- Participate in staff development, appraisal, and training as appropriate.
- Comply with the Council's policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and Data Protection.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as directed.
- Contribute to the development of the service and support service improvement initiatives.
- Support the Council's commitment to crime reduction and community safety.
