Job Description

Warehouse Team Leader

Menzies Distribution Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our team at our Biggleswade depot. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse, providing a first-class service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the application of our business standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) are maintained, and performance levels for all warehouse activity are established, monitored, and maintained.
  • Team Leadership: Liaise, support, and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers, and lead a team of warehouse staff to achieve our business objectives.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure the efficient flow of stock throughout the site, and work closely with the site, customer, and supplier stock teams to ensure clarity and consistency in all aspects of our operations.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all aspects of our health and safety policy, and ensure all environmental control measures are in place and effective.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance our operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading a team in a busy logistics environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Technical Skills: Experience of using warehouse management systems and other IT skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to prioritize business requirements and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Qualifications: Used PPT, have FLT license. Essential - Counterbalance, and VNA - desirable.
