Pharmacy Technician Opportunity in Wimborne & Ferndown PCN

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary Care Network, supporting our 4 GP practices across the Wimborne & Ferndown area.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of our Network Pharmacy Team, consisting of 3 Clinical Pharmacists and 2 Pharmacy Technicians, supported by the GP Clinical Lead. Our new Technician will collaborate with the team to optimize systems and processes, resolving prescription-related issues.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to achieving efficiencies and effectiveness within prescribing activities for the PCN group of GP practices.
  • Promote high-quality, cost-effective, and evidence-based medicine use within the PCN.
  • Work with clinical pharmacists to respond to medication-related queries from patients, GPs, other healthcare professionals, and staff.
  • Develop and ensure safe, efficient medicines optimization programs, including repeat prescribing, medication review, and medicines reconciliation services.
Requirements
  • Computer literate and able to analyze and interpret prescribing data.
  • Attention to detail, able to work accurately, and effectively manage allocated resources.
  • Able to think analytically, anticipate obstacles, and think ahead using analytical techniques to draw logical solutions to problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • An excellent understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues.

We offer a competitive salary, £35,000 per annum, reflecting the local market rate. The role also comes with opportunities for professional development and growth within our dynamic primary care network.
