Job Title: Fermentation Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Fermentation Scientist to join our R&D team at SRG. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading fermentation R&D projects, planning and executing experiments, and troubleshooting and optimizing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead fermentation R&D projects and plan and execute relevant experiments
  • Perform troubleshooting and process optimizations in scale-down models with the aim of subsequent implementation at production scale
  • Communicate the progress of on-going fermentation R&D projects, draft project reports, and contribute to project meetings
  • Present R&D results in written and oral formats as appropriate
  • Lead a small team of scientists and/or technicians, nurture their skills, and provide technical leadership to junior members of the team
  • Analyze the company's fermentation process and improve optimization and standardization
  • Complete reports and communicate across divisions and senior management
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running and management of an R&D laboratory
Requirements:
  • Educated to a BSc, MSc, or PhD level in a scientific or engineering-related discipline
  • Relevant number of years of industrial experience
  • Technical expertise in microbiology and bacterial fermentation is essential
  • Project management or supervisor experience is desired
