About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our skilled team at WEC Group Ltd. As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing welding activities on a variety of components, including carbon steel, armour steel, and aluminium.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding activities on carbon steel, armour steel, and aluminium components
  • Weld various joint configurations in all positions
  • Ensure equipment parameters are set to the optimum to fully satisfy weld quality, integrity, and WPS requirements
  • Review engineering drawings for parts to be welded
  • Satisfy production schedules to the correct quality level and within the specified time scale
  • Carry out and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks and record necessary safety checks
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts
  • Ensure that the labelling system is adhered to

About You

  • Recent or relevant welding or fabrication experience
  • Understanding of quality procedures and specific customer requirements
  • Ideally a coded welder
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures
  • Proficient with metal fabrication tools
  • Advanced mathematical and engineering skills
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
