About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Rapid Response Team and provide expert care to patients requiring urgent Occupational Therapy interventions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct rapid assessments of patients' functional abilities and barriers to independence.
  • Create customized intervention plans to address immediate needs and promote functional recovery.
  • Deliver prompt occupational therapy interventions to enhance patients' quality of life.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress.
  • Educate patients and their families on adaptive strategies and techniques.
  • Stay updated on emerging practices to ensure the highest level of care.
  • Work in collaboration with Virtual ward to ensure patients are receiving appropriate therapeutic care.
  • Respond urgently to patients requiring unplanned care as per Urgent Care Response guidance.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • BSc or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration.

Desirable Criteria

  • Member of RCOT.
  • Postgraduate training in a relevant field.

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive postgraduate experience of working as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience of working in physical settings with adults/older people in community, admission avoidance, acute, or rehabilitation.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of supervising junior staff.
  • Experience of service improvement or audits.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working in admission avoidance services or A&E.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrates sound IT skills, e.g., Microsoft packages, Excel, Word, Teams.
  • Demonstrates good communication and written skills.
  • Ability to travel across the borough or valid UK driver's license.
