About the Role

Job Title: Principal Engineer – Product Safety Engineering

Location: Various locations across the UK, with flexible working arrangements available

Salary: Competitive

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team as a Product Safety Engineer. As a key member of our Integrated Development Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe development and delivery of submarine systems and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety strategies and plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate hazards and risks
  • Conduct safety analyses and generate safety reports to support project milestones
  • Ensure the effective operation of the project Safety Management System
  • Liaise with other teams and stakeholders to ensure safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the project

Requirements:

  • 2:2 degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience working in a safety-critical environment, preferably in the maritime defence sector
  • Strong understanding of safety and systems engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
