Matchtech is seeking a highly skilled System Safety Assurance Engineer to join their team in Toronto. This role requires relocation to Toronto for the position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety assurance for various projects, ensuring compliance with international safety and technical standards.
  • Report on progress, manage staff competence, and deliver an internal audit schedule to ensure project governance.
  • Coordinate safety studies throughout the project lifecycle to ensure safety requirements are met.
  • Manage safety-related activities, including Hazard Log, RAM, V&V, and T&C.
  • Prepare technical reports for submission to management, clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead safety engineering activities for rolling stock, signaling, and infrastructure projects.
  • Facilitate HAZOP/HAZID workshops and manage risk assessments.
  • Have a working knowledge of safety methods, including Safety Plan, PHA, FMECA, FTA, IHA, OSHA, SRIL, and Safety Case.
  • Undertake technical analyses and reviews of Engineering Safety Management documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant safety designations an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards, including EN50126, EN50129, and IEC 61508.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders.
