Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our specialist team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work with asylum seekers and refugees, providing expert assessments, formulations, and evidence-based treatments for complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and traumatic bereavement.
Main DutiesThe post holder will be responsible for delivering specialist therapy interventions, including trauma-focused cognitive therapy for PTSD, EMDR, Compassion Focussed Therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy. They will also contribute to the supervision of assistant psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists, as well as participate in research, audits, and service evaluation. Additionally, the post holder will have opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills in working with interpreters, treating PTSD, and providing training on relevant topics.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, with professional registration with the Health Care Professions Council. They will also have experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, including those with acute and complex PTSD, and a strong understanding of refugee mental health and resettlement support. The post holder will be able to work flexibly and respond to the needs of the service, with good written and verbal communication skills.
