Data Protection Business Partner Role

The PIB Group is seeking a Data Protection Business Partner to join our team. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to ensure our data protection and compliance policies and procedures are current and effective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aiding in integration efforts and general management
  • Overseeing projects for all PIB Group businesses to ensure alignment with Group policy and adherence to data protection legislation
  • Assisting in delivering projects to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of data protection, records management, and information security
  • Maintaining, revising, and implementing policies and procedures to enable the Group to demonstrate compliance with its data protection requirements
  • Conducting periodic in-depth reviews of all PIB Group businesses in relation to their compliance with Group policies, data protection legislation, and regulator's guidance
  • Documenting findings and compiling reports for Business leaders and PIB Senior Management, highlighting areas of non-compliance and areas of risk
  • Creating process maps as part of the reviews and building a register of processing across the business
  • Offering advice and guidance on data protection and record management issues
  • Maintaining the data breach, data incident, and subject access requests notifications, ensuring that all requests are undertaken in compliance with legislation
  • Helping promote a culture of data protection compliance across all parts of the Group, displaying positive working relationships with relevant contacts
  • Ensuring that all mandatory training related to data protection and information security is completed by all colleagues in your business
  • Staying up to date with changes to UK data protection regulations and ensuring company compliance
Requirements
  • Familiarity with GDPR and national data protection laws
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong planning and organisational aptitude
  • Experience gathering, organising, and analysing data from diverse sources
  • Prior experience in a data protection or compliance role (not essential)
  • Understanding of data processing operations within the Insurance sector
  • Professional certifications in data protection or information security such as CIPP/E or CISSO are advantageous
