Control Systems Developer

Are you a talented Electrical Control Engineer looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client, a leading drinks manufacturing company based in North Lanarkshire.
In this critical role, you will have the chance to leverage your expertise in PLC/HMI and process automation technology to drive efficiency, minimise downtime, and reduce costs.
Your Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to maximise output.
- Analyse production data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Rapidly diagnose and repair faults to prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with the Project Engineering Team to achieve key business objectives.
- Establish standardised PLC/Network protocols for new projects.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and factory cleanliness standards.
- Prepare detailed reports, including downtime records and production logs.
- Consult technical documentation to validate component replacements.
- Mentor colleagues in PLC, HMI, automation, and programming techniques.
- Negotiate with suppliers and contractors on automation, validation, and development.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of assets to inform software architecture.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies to ensure regulatory compliance.
- HNC level or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Substantial experience in control engineering and automation.
- Prior experience in food manufacturing or FMCG beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of computerised maintenance systems.
- Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in Siemens S7 PLCs and TIA Portal.
- Effective communication skills within smart factories and Industry 4.0 settings.
- Understanding of Profibus, ASIbus, and Ethernet networks.
- Strong grasp of Servo Drives and associated controls.
- Familiarity with Variable Speed Drives.
- Programming expertise in Fanuc Robot Systems.
A competitive salary package estimated to be between £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on your experience.
