Astute Technical has an exciting opportunity for a UK Mechanical Designer to join its team in Birmingham. This role includes a competitive salary, company car, and additional benefits.

About the Role:
  1. Design and develop mechanical systems for water treatment plants, ensuring timely completion and meeting client expectations.
  2. Collaborate with clients, engineers, and CAD designers to integrate mechanical components into plant designs.
  3. Develop equipment specifications and generate mechanical layouts.
  4. Work closely with CAD designers and other design engineers to create and evolve P&ID, General Arrangement, and detailed drawings.
  5. Communicate effectively with site and commissioning managers.
  6. Evaluate technical quotations and participate in design risk assessments.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in municipal or industrial wastewater sectors.
  • Familiarity with equipment used in the water treatment industry and steel fabrication techniques.
  • Proficiency in CAD (Autodesk) and software like Excel and Word.
  • Able to perform mechanical calculations.
  • Hold a valid driving license.
Compensation:

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum + Company Car

25 days annual leave + birthday leave
