About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Apprentice Gardener Assistant to join our grounds maintenance team at DCS Group UK Limited in Banbury.

As an Apprentice Gardener Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced team members to develop your skills in grounds maintenance and learn from industry experts.

Your key responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, conducting routine maintenance of grounds equipment, adhering to health and safety standards, and working safely and efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and develop your skills in grounds maintenance while being supported by a team of experienced professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Grounds Maintenance:
    • Maintain and enhance outdoor spaces using a range of machinery and equipment.
    • Perform tasks such as mowing, seeding, weeding, and spraying.
    • Prune trees in line with site plans, remove dead wood, and chip as necessary.
    • Maintain neighbouring borders by strimming, weeding, and spraying as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Conduct routine maintenance of grounds equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Adhere to all health and safety standards and company policies and procedures.
    • Work safely and efficiently at all times.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with grounds operatives as part of a team.
    • Operate independently when required, managing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Fleet Support:
    • Assist with the maintenance of the DCS fleet, ensuring vehicles remain in roadworthy condition.
  • Site Management:
    • Ensure all external areas of hygiene are maintained to a very high standard.
    • Distribute deliveries received on site as needed.

  • Ongoing training relevant to the role

Requirements:

  • Essential: English & Maths GCSE's (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualifications.

Salary and Benefits:
