We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with Key Stage 3 pupils in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Trafford. The successful candidate will support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, particularly those with challenging behaviour.

This role involves working with small groups of pupils, prioritising engagement and progress throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEMH pupils and be Team Teach trained. Additional training is available through the CPD Academy.

The successful candidate will be expected to follow individual Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP) and function within the safeguarding and behaviour policies of the PRU. This is a full-time role, spanning Monday to Friday throughout school hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a PRU setting
  • Working with small groups of pupils to promote engagement and progress
  • Following individual EHCPs and safeguarding policies
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to provide effective support

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEMH pupils
  • Team Teach training or willingness to undergo training
  • Ability to work with small groups of pupils
  • Good knowledge and understanding of SEMH, behaviour and safeguarding
