Job Overview

Sodexo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Operations Manager to oversee the food and beverage operations at Oaklands Primary School-Chatham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food and service, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of students and staff.
  • Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure excellent food quality and presentation.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the school administration and Sodexo management to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in culinary operations management, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Basic food handling skills certification, such as NVQ Level 2 or Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate.
  • 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am-2pm.
  • Term-time only working contract, paid over 52 weeks.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses.
  • Equated pay (spread-over pay) method of payment.
