About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Volunteer Experience Lead to join our team at Rethink Mental Illness. As a Volunteer Experience Lead, you will play a key role in supporting and developing the skills of our volunteers who lead support sessions for individuals with mental health needs in our Wellness Garden in Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance and support to our volunteers, helping them to develop and deliver creative and engaging programs that cater to the diverse interests of our participants.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. A strong understanding of mental health principles and a passion for community development are essential for this role.

As a Volunteer Experience Lead, you can expect to receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success. You will also have the opportunity to network with other professionals in the field and contribute to the growth and development of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to volunteers who lead support sessions
  • Help develop and deliver creative and engaging programs that cater to diverse interests
  • Work closely with our team to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to participants and their families
  • Collaborate with local community groups and organizations to promote our services

Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of mental health principles and community development
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, counseling, education)

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
