We are seeking a skilled Import Operations Specialist to join our growing team in Heathrow, UK.

This crucial role involves coordinating the movement of import airfreight shipments from beginning to end, including customs clearances and deliveries. Key responsibilities include managing customs clearance requirements efficiently, developing strong relationships with customers, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure client KPIs are achieved and exceeded.

Your Role:
  • Freight Forwarding Processes: End-to-end working knowledge of freight forwarding processes and procedures.
  • Customs Clearance: Manage customs clearance requirements efficiently.
  • Customer Relationship Development: Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure client KPIs are achieved and exceeded.
  • Profitability Management: Oversee shipment profitability and margin management.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate and build strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Customer Portfolio Management: Manage your portfolio of customers in line with agreed operating procedures.
  • Reporting: Create customer-specific reports as needed.
  • Market Awareness: Maintain a good awareness of market trends and dynamics.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with team members and provide support and cover during absences.
Requirements:
  • Industry Experience: Background in freight forwarding/logistics.
  • Customer Service Skills: High levels of customer service and a passion for client satisfaction.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Time Management: Robust time management and organizational skills.
  • Communication Skills: Confident and articulate communicator.
  • Commercial Acumen: Good commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Cargowise Knowledge: Knowledge of Cargowise is preferable.

As an Import Operations Specialist, you will be based in Heathrow and required to collaborate with colleagues in person for 3 days per week. This will allow you to balance remote work with face-to-face interactions and stay connected with your team.
