About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematologist to join our team at King's College Hospital, specializing in acute porphyria care. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work with patients across England, providing clinical advice and support via telephone and email. As part of a nationally commissioned highly specialized service, you will have the chance to conduct outpatient clinics, manage patient care, and participate in research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct outpatient clinics for patients with acute porphyria in King's College Hospital and other hospitals across England.
  2. Provide telephone/email advice to other hospitals on the investigation and management of patients admitted with possible or established acute porphyria.
  3. Review inpatients at King's College Hospital admitted with acute porphyria or related problems.
  4. Teach medical, nursing, and laboratory staff about clinical aspects of porphyria.
  5. Offer clinical advice and support to the porphyria and haematology laboratories involved in the diagnosis and management of patients with acute porphyria.
  6. Participate in laboratory, translational, and clinical research of patients with acute porphyria.
