Edu-tainment Expert

Bright Sparks Science is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Children's Party Entertainer to join our team of science specialists. As a Children's Party Entertainer, you will be responsible for delivering our exciting Science Party Packages to children and their parents across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

• Deliver high-quality science entertainment to children and their parents, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for all.
• Perform magic tricks, inspire scientific demonstrations, and lead science-based games and hands-on activities.
• Supervise children during the party, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Set up and pack away party equipment, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to, including health and safety procedures.
• Collect, return, and replenish party kits to the Head Office.
• Transport larger kits to rural destinations, as required.

• Relevant experience working with children aged 5-11 years.
• Able to travel to and from venues and Head Office with relevant equipment.
• Mobile phone to keep in touch with Head Office and party organizers.
• Sound judgment, common sense, and ability to act on one's own initiative.
• Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children.
• Responsible, reliable, and punctual, with good organizational skills.
• Excellent communicator, with confident face-to-face customer service skills.

• Motivated individual, passionate about working with children.
• Previous experience in teaching, acting, science, youth clubs, or kids entertainment.
• Previous DBS check, registered on the DBS Update Service.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• Residence in the Oxfordshire/Berkshire area, with reimbursement for travel if living within this area.

This is a casual/zero hours contract, with work offered on an ad hoc basis. A calendar of work will be made available months in advance, and individuals can choose which shifts to accept.

Our Science Parties take place on weekends during term time, with parties lasting 1-2 hours. Bright Sparks Science's rates of pay for Party Entertainers will be £30/hour, £60 per 1-hour party, £80 per 1 hr 40 min party, £90 per 2-hour party.

As part of your duties, you will be expected to travel to the Head Office once a week to collect/return a party kit. You will be informed in advance of being required to work at specific locations and will receive a mileage allowance for the return journey from your home to the host venue.
