About the Job


We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Assessment Specialist for Adults with Learning Disabilities to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary health team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality clinical assessment and intervention services to adults with learning disabilities in the community.


Main Responsibilities



  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' health needs, taking into account their individual requirements and circumstances.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans, working collaboratively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff and students, promoting their professional development and ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in learning disabilities care.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative and effective care services, using evidence-based principles and practices.

Person Specification


We are looking for a candidate with:



  • Current Professional Registration and qualification in Nursing (RNLD).
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills, with the ability to convey enthusiasm and a positive working attitude.
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritise and organise conflicting demands.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislations and policies, including the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
