About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Accountant to join our client's successful division in Co. Armagh. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders and supporting the preparation of monthly VAT, Intrastat, and overhead accounts.

Job Description

Your role will involve working closely with the Financial Reporting Fixed Assets Lead, site accountants, and other teams within Financial Services to deliver on the financial performance of the business unit and subsequent reporting. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all relevant SOX controls are completed in the area and supporting external and internal audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders
  • Support the preparation of monthly VAT, Intrastat, and overhead accounts
  • Work closely with the Financial Reporting Fixed Assets Lead, site accountants, and other teams within Financial Services
  • Deliver on the financial performance of the business unit and subsequent reporting

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a part-qualified accountant, Accounts Technician, or qualified by experience with strong technical skills and previous experience in a finance team. An understanding of the principles of standard costing in a manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial.
