Environmental Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Environmental Scientist to join our team at Templarfox Consultancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering the workflow of asbestos samples for preparation, analysis via Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Laboratory focused duties, including preparation and analysis of samples in adherence to strict analytical and quality standards.
2. Perform analysis using microscopes or SEM.
3. Data entry of all results collected from analysis carried out.
4. Formulating and writing asbestos analysis reports.
5. Responsible for the efficiency and output of the laboratory.
6. Laboratory housekeeping - cleaning and maintaining stock levels.

Requirements

1. Ideally, experience of working in a UKAS asbestos accredited laboratory for around 2 years.
2. Scientific/Maths A-levels or HND or Degree in a science discipline.
3. You will need to be IT literate and have experience using MS Word and Excel.
4. Experience/knowledge of working with microscopes or Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) is desirable, as would previous experience within a lab environment.

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
