Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join BAE Systems as a Principal Fluid Systems Engineer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the mechanical platform systems that deliver crucial ship services and crew life support capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a strong background in fluid systems design and experience working with suppliers to develop equipment and component specifications. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to present design documentation to customers and wider groups.

You will be involved in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Developing functional engineering solutions that meet complex cross-functional interactions and requirements
  • Engaging with suppliers to develop equipment and component specifications
  • Working directly with customers to develop requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Performing and reviewing engineering calculations and analysis
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Educated to degree level in engineering, mechanical or science subjects
  • Chartered engineer status within a recognised engineering institute
  • Background in fluid systems design
  • Excellent communication skills
