Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Ballymena. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide specialist support to young people with learning disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to young people with learning disabilities, as agreed with the Disability Support Services Co-ordinator.
  • Prepare resources and adapt training materials to meet the needs of each young person.
  • Assist the DSS Co-ordinator with monitoring and evidencing progress against performance targets.
  • Provide regular updates to the DSS Co-ordinator on young people's progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality and effective systems for processing and maintaining internal documentation.
Requirements:
  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, including English and Maths.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role supporting people with learning disabilities.
  • Effective 1:1 mentoring and motivational skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Administrative skills, including record keeping and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of statutory services and relevant legislation, especially child protection and safeguarding.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience of working in a learning environment.
  • A level 3 qualification.
Working Hours and Rate of Pay:

Every Tuesday from 9:30am - 3:30pm, £12.94 per hour plus a stipend of £6.50 per day for administrative purposes.

This is a part-time, temporary position with Staffline Recruitment (NI) Ltd.
