About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to join our External Reporting team at Howden Group Holdings. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the production of Group consolidated results, including monthly management accounts, quarterly and annual accounts, and lender reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production of IFRS consolidated results for monthly management accounts and quarterly interim financial statements
  • Produce group cash flow on management basis and statutory basis
  • Support the growing maturity of the reporting function with various projects, including the production of glossy accounts
  • Assess revenue recognition under IFRS 15 and support local teams in transitioning new acquisitions
  • Assist with significant M&A accounting related activity and assist with on-boarding new acquisitions to the group
  • Maintain process notes for monthly, quarterly, and annual processes
  • Review and challenge capex budget submissions and produce group capex budget pack
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including divisional and local finance teams, Tax, Treasury, Corporate Finance, CoSec, and Legal
  • Improve systems for cash flow production

Year-end Responsibilities

  • Produce and project manage the production of group annual consolidated statutory accounts
  • Assist with the implementation of new financial reporting software solution
  • Coordinate with division and local finance teams for submission of year-end packs
  • Support throughout year-end audit and assist with resolving auditor queries

Ad-hoc Responsibilities

  • Produce group accounting papers, including revenue recognition under IFRS 15 from non-IFRS reporters
  • Assist with significant M&A reporting related activity
  • Maintain process notes for monthly, quarterly, and annual processes
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting requests both internally and to other teams, including Treasury, Tax, M&A, and Divisional Finance
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as required to support strategic objectives of CFO

Requirements

  • Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and relevant UK Law
  • Prior experience of large multi-currency group consolidations
  • Prior experience in using OneStream or HFM and Unit4 or the ability to learn reporting tools quickly
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality of deliverables
  • Plans ahead, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Consider information provided with a level of professional scepticism and a personal drive for producing high-quality work
  • Problem-solving capability
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including Index match and VLOOKUP formulae, data manipulation, and analysis
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a constantly evolving business environment and group structure

Professional Qualifications

  • Graduate-level education (or equivalent)
  • Qualified accountant: at least 6-8 years PQE, preferably ACA/CA (SA)
