About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our integrated mental health and substance use service at HMP Dovegate in Uttoxeter. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality care to individuals in custody.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based interventions and manage a caseload of individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Assess and develop personalized care plans, working collaboratively with service users, carers, and other professionals.
  • Facilitate therapeutic group work and deliver evidenced-based interventions.
  • Identify individuals requiring hospital treatment and facilitate timely transfers under the Mental Health Act.
  • Line manage Band 5 nurses and contribute to the delivery of an effective, dynamic, integrated mental health and substance misuse service.

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register.
  • Evidence of recent CPD and compliance with NMC revalidation.
  • Teaching Certificate including annual update (ENB 603) or related mentoring/coaching qualification.
  • Considerable experience of working in the mental health field, providing specialist interventions, and supervising staff.
