Debt Recovery Professional

This position involves managing portfolios of debt owed to the Council and requires an experienced Court Officer to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities:- Effectively manage difficult conversations with members of the public
- Apply knowledge of debt collection processes, including Council Tax, Non Domestic Rates and Sundry
- Utilize knowledge of the Money Claims Online (MCOL) process to collect debts owed to the Council
- Understand County Court processes and methods of enforcement
- Familiarity with Charging Order, Bankruptcy and Committal processes
- Knowledge of the Thurrock Fair Debt Policy
- Apply negotiation skills to resolve disputes and communicate effectively with members of the public
- Familiarity with Means Enquiry processes for Committal Hearings
