About the Role

Newton Place Surgery is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support our clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a clinical pharmacist to ensure safe and effective use of medicines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support to the prescription team to resolve day-to-day medicine issues.
  • Assist clinicians in identifying alternative medicines when notified items are unavailable.
  • Ensure MHRA alerts are acted upon and disseminate information to the wider clinical team.
  • Conduct audits to ensure patient safety.
  • Undertake patient-facing roles to promote effective medicines use through shared decision-making conversations.
  • Support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation for new care home patients.
  • Provide specialist expertise to address public health and social care needs of patients.
  • Develop relationships with other pharmacy professionals and multidisciplinary team members to support integration across health and social care.

Requirements

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Meets the specific qualification and training requirements as specified by the GPhC criteria to register as a Pharmacy Technician.
