We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Berkshire Independent Hospital in Reading. As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will provide a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient wards and outpatient departments.

As a Band 6/7 Pharmacist, your primary responsibility will be to promote the safe, effective, economical use of medicines in patients being cared for by the Hospitals. You will work closely with consultants, other clinicians, and patients to ensure the appropriate use of medicines and provide advice on prescribing issues and evidence-based prescribing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards, and clinical requirements.
- Advise consultants, other clinicians, and patients on the safe management of medicines, ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
- Participate in clinical ward pharmacy services, covering inpatient wards and outpatients, and deliver a clinical pharmacy service to defined clinical areas.
- Identify and resolve prescribing-related problems to ensure safe and effective use of medicines.

Requirements:
- Degree in Pharmacy
- Member of GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) with current registration
- Willingness to undertake clinical training
- Up-to-date general clinical awareness
- Knowledge and understanding of medicines legislation
- Dispensing and patient counselling experience
- Experience of supervising and training staff
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize work effectively
- Good organization, time management skills
- Driver’s License with access to a car
- Evidence of commitment to CPD
- Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
- Experience in ward/clinical pharmacy and medicines information

Estimated Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum
