Practice Development Nurse for Paediatrics Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Practice Development Nurse for Paediatrics. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Paediatric and Neonates Practice Development Team to deliver high-quality education and professional development for clinical staff and learners on placement.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing collaborative working between clinical educators, members of the multi-disciplinary team, ward managers, clinical lead for education, and senior management team to deliver quality-assured education and professional development.
- Leading on practice development and education requirements within the department and Trust, including shared learning from patient safety and harm-free care.
- Advocating for safety and quality to promote evidence-based practice within the Paediatric specialty.
- Upholding the advancement of knowledge and skills using approved learning and assessment procedures, including competency assessment.
- Ensuring the clinical area is a positive learning environment through acting as an expert resource and reporting on up-to-date local training resources.
- Monitoring and reporting on education activity to senior management team and clinical education team.
- Delivering specialist Paediatric education for staff working with patients and families in our clinical acute settings.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Clinical Paediatric expertise either through formal qualification and/or extensive clinical experience.
- Qualification in Specialty (HDU).
- PG Certificate in Education or studying for.
- EPALS/APLS provider.
The successful candidate will have evidence of:
- Having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
- Having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
