Telecoms Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Telecoms Engineer to join our team at Anderson Wright Consulting. As a Telecoms Engineer, you will play a crucial role in installing, testing, and repairing communications systems, including fixed-line and mobile telephone networks, copper wire and fibre-optic cabling, and digital satellite systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, connect, and test cabling systems
  • Diagnose and fix faults in telecommunications systems
  • Work with aerial rigging and related equipment
  • Install mobile and static antennas on buildings or masts
  • Build and test telecommunications components and equipment
What You Will Learn:

As a Telecoms Engineer, you will undergo an intensive 8-week training program where you will gain hands-on experience in installing telephone and internet lines, fault finding, testing, and fixing telephone lines, setting up networks, and installing CAT5 and CAT6 systems. You will also learn about fibre splicing and fibre installations.

This is a government-funded course, free of charge, and will be held at a local training centre. You will work Monday to Friday, 9 am till 4 pm, for 8 weeks.

As a Telecoms Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including installing and testing cabling systems, diagnosing and fixing faults, and working with aerial rigging and related equipment. You will also have the chance to build and test telecommunications components and equipment.
