Financial Controller Job Description

SF Recruitment (Birmingham) Careers are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the financial control environment, including all finance operational processes and business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversee month-end process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Manage and mentor the Management Accountant to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their role
  • Act as a business partner to the senior leadership team, providing financial guidance and support to inform business decisions
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow management and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with corporate taxation and VAT requirements

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a proven track record of delivering financial results
  • Entrepreneurial nature with a passion for driving business growth and development
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
