As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for curating a diverse and inspiring literary programme celebrating literature in all its forms.
This role involves programming the festival, booking authors, chairs, and speakers, as well as creating a diverse and inclusive programme celebrating books, authors, and writing across genres.
- You will identify and invite renowned authors, poets, playwrights, and literary figures, and cultivate relationships with emerging talents and local artists.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge and passion for literature across genres, a creative vision, and experience of working with authors.
A successful candidate will have good networks across the publishing sectors and be able to ensure each festival has an innovative high-quality programme, managed professionally to the highest standard.
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum plus travel expenses for this freelance position.
Working from home with regular visits to our location, you will oversee logistical planning and execution of events, including venue selection, scheduling, budget management, and technical requirements.
Your primary goal will be to ensure the festival is commercially successful, generating sufficient income to fund our charitable aims and outreach programmes.
