About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Adler and Allan Group. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for planning and installing all elements of fuel tanks, including tank cleaning, and be part of a team in the decommissioning of fuel tanks and installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and install all elements of fuel tanks, including tank cleaning.
  • Participate in the decommissioning of fuel tanks and installations.
  • Install all types of pipe work, including steel pipe, plastic pipe (KPS, DURA, UPP), and provide professional assessment and plans to manage such works.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks and provide specialist input to support the planning of PPM contracts.
  • Supervise and manage a team of technicians when required.
  • Liaise with customers on site to discuss ongoing works and further services of the Company.
  • Accurately complete all works paperwork and submit in a timely manner to the FIS office.
  • Liaise with supervision regarding all works and recommend improvements and possible opportunities.
  • Operate Company vehicles, ensuring that all vehicle checks are undertaken prior to commencing any works.
  • Ensure the security of all Company vehicles and equipment.
  • Check that all equipment is fit for purpose and used in the correct manner.
  • Work in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and the Group H&S policy, including provided Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS documentation).
Requirements
  • Proven ability to carry out the key tasks identified above.
  • A wide range of technical knowledge, including experience across several industry sectors (i.e. FM, MOD, and COMMERCIAL).
  • Relevant specialist training, such as OFTEC and/or Fuel Pump Maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of all equipment associated with fuel storage, monitoring, and dispensing.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Evidence of supervision of field staff and subcontractors on site.
  • IT literacy, including Word, Excel, Focal point, and aCloud.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to adapt during busy times and ensure consistency of service.
  • A flexible schedule and the ability to operate away from home for several days if required.
