Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Maintenance Electrician to join our team at the Sella Ness Industrial Estate, Sullom Voe, Shetland ZE2 9QR. Your primary responsibilities will include performing preventive and reactive electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. You will also install and maintain electrical systems and equipment in accordance with safety standards (BS 7671). Additionally, you will carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and general building maintenance duties such as plumbing and joinery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 8th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
• Recognised Electrical Modern Apprenticeship.
• Emergency First Aid at Work.
• Portable Appliance Testing, City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in plumbing, joinery, or general maintenance.
• Full, clean UK driving license.
• Ability to read drawings, technical manuals, schematics, and guidance.
• Proven experience in electrical, plumbing, joinery, and general building maintenance.
• Familiarity with working in a facilities management or multi-disciplinary environment.
• Practical experience of working with safe systems of work, permit to work and following procedures.
