At Heidelberg Materials AG, we are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our North West operations. This is a pivotal role where you will drive our muck away, construction, and recycling activities. Based at Agecroft Depot, you will provide strategic leadership, covering business development, sales, customer service, transport, and on-site operations. Key responsibilities include leading commercial and operational activities, pursuing growth opportunities, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with company and statutory policies.

Strategic Leadership

As General Manager, you will provide leadership to the Depot, Recycling, and Landfill teams. You will manage direct reports using clearly outlined objectives, targets, and performance measures that are reviewed regularly.

Business and Resource Planning

You will develop annual operating plans and other business plans covering sales, operations, and capital expenditure. You will ensure operational assets and people are in place to deliver agreed results and develop plans to improve business. You will also manage third-party contracts and oversee resource planning to recruit, train, and continuously develop adequate personnel.

Business Development

You will actively manage commercial relationships with new and existing customers. You will work closely with the Central aggregates, concrete, and asphalt operational and commercial team to exploit commercial opportunities. You will develop marketing plans to grow demand and market for premium minerals.

Operations and Contract Management

You will achieve optimum production levels at the lowest operational cost. You will continually advance operational improvements to improve efficiency and productivity. You will oversee procedures that achieve the highest quality and customer service.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced business manager with a track record of managing both yard and transport activities. You should have strong commercial client focus, responsibility for business development, and profit delivery. You should also have strong financial acumen and the ability to operate at a strategic management level.

What's on Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience, plus bonus. You will also receive a company car, 27 days holiday (excluding bank holidays) and a generous pension scheme.
