Research Associate in Hydrogen Combustion

We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our world-leading research team focused on transforming aviation towards a sustainable and climate-neutral future.
The National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology (NCCAT) is looking for experts in combusting computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to support the design and development of new hydrogen combustion systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and numerically analyze candidate designs for hydrogen combustion systems.
- Provide assistance prior to and during testing in our reacting flow facilities.
- Contribute to the investigation of key areas such as establishing a robust numerical methodology and providing combustion performance data.
- Experience of advanced numerical methods up to PhD level.
- Experience of, for example, use of large eddy simulations, solving of chemistry using an FGM approach.
We will also be assessing combustion performance on our test facilities, so there will be opportunities for gaining experience in experimental methods. Any prior knowledge in this area (although not essential) would be advantageous.
